Alkagesta’s Singapore team has assembled ahead of SIBCON 2026, with founder and chief executive Orkhan Rustamov spending the week at the office, according to Alkagesta Newsroom. The gathering comes as the company’s Singapore operation enters its second year, with the conference providing an occasion to meet participants from the shipping, marine fuels and commodity trading industries.
The company established its Singapore hub under Alkagesta Asia Pte in July 2025. In its account of the operation’s development, Alkagesta Newsroom described a period of rapid growth during the first year and said the business had built a presence in the regional marine fuels market. The update referred to first-half 2026 results as evidence of that progress, but the published text supplied no figures or other performance measures.
Alkagesta attributed the development of its Singapore business to work on infrastructure, commercial relationships and market capabilities, alongside the recruitment of a local team. Its account presented those elements as the foundation for the operation’s growth, rather than identifying a single transaction or project. The company framed the gathering ahead of SIBCON as part of that continuing development in Singapore and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
For Alkagesta, the conference offers a chance to strengthen relationships with existing counterparts and explore further opportunities across Asia-Pacific, the company said. SIBCON brings the international shipping and bunkering community together in Singapore, which the newsroom described as a major centre for energy trading and bunkering. The company’s stated plans for the event span shipping, marine fuels and broader commodity trading contacts.
The office also welcomed back administrator Diyana Scott following maternity leave. Alkagesta included her return in its account of the team gathering, presenting it as a reflection of the Singapore operation’s growing depth as it moves beyond its first year.
