Alkavex, the steel trading business of Alkagesta, took part in Metallurgy China 2026, Wire China 2026 and Tube China 2026 in Shanghai, according to Alkagesta Newsroom. The three exhibitions ran concurrently at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre as part of the second China International Steel Week, bringing together participants from the steel and metals industries.
Deputy chief executive Nijat Osmanlı and China business developer Bayram Bayramli represented Alkavex during the four-day programme. The company newsroom said they engaged with steelmakers, equipment suppliers, trading businesses, logistics providers and other industry participants. Alkavex described its attendance as an opportunity to connect with producers and technology providers in both the Chinese and international steel markets and follow developments across the sector.
Metallurgy China, held for the 24th time, featured more than 1,000 enterprises across 20,000 square metres of exhibition space, the report said. Its programme centred on the steel sector’s move towards higher-end products, smarter operations and greener development. Exhibits covered technologies, production processes and equipment, alongside new business models, with collaboration and the industry’s international development also among the event’s objectives.
The parallel Wire China and Tube China exhibitions covered the wire, cable, tube and pipe sectors. According to Alkagesta Newsroom, the events were organised by Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai and MC-CCPIT. Both were in their 12th editions and drew domestic and international brands. The newsroom reported attendance of more than 50,000 professional buyers from around the world across the two fairs.
Green and low-carbon manufacturing, digitalisation, intelligent technologies and the use of lightweight materials in global markets were among the themes of the 2026 wire and tube events. Alkavex said participating in all three exhibitions gave it direct exposure to industry developments as well as opportunities for contact across the steel supply chain.
