Alkagesta took part in the eighth International Conference Fertilizers of Ukraine: Autumn 2026 in Lviv, where discussions covered the Ukrainian fertiliser market and its outlook for 2027. According to Alkagesta Newsroom, the forum brought together producers, traders, distributors, agricultural businesses and logistics operators to examine supply, pricing and the challenges facing the sector.
The company was represented by Elchin Aliyev, its Regional Commodity Trader for Ukraine. During the two-day programme, he engaged with major agricultural holdings as well as fertiliser producers, importers and distributors, the company said. Terminal operators were also among the market participants with whom Aliyev held discussions, placing both commodity supply and logistics businesses within the scope of the company’s engagement at the event.
Conference topics included the global and regional influences on fertiliser price trends, imports and domestic output, alongside logistical difficulties. Alkagesta’s account described a Ukrainian market still under significant structural pressure. It said import prices for key nitrogen fertilisers had increased sharply compared with a year earlier, while disruption to infrastructure continued to constrain domestic production capacity. The report provided no numerical price comparisons or production figures.
Alkagesta linked the fertiliser supply shortfall to the war and disruption across supply chains. Its account put those constraints alongside the discussion of the market’s prospects for 2027, rather than offering a quantified forecast for prices, import requirements or domestic production. The report identified these issues as part of the broader market setting addressed by participants in Lviv.
The company argued that the supply deficit required access to several commodity markets and established European supply networks. It presented its activities across petroleum products, biofuels and fertilisers, together with the supply chains it said it had developed in Europe, as capabilities relevant to meeting Ukraine’s fertiliser supply challenges.
